Special Meeting/AGM 2025
This information relates to quorum for the upcoming Ngāti Rangiteaorere Koromatua Council special meeting and Annual General Meeting being held on Sunday 7 December 2025.
Resolutions
For a special resolution to pass at the special meeting, it requires 75% approval from NRKC members participating in the vote.
For a resolution to pass at the AGM, it requires a bare majority of approval from NRKC members participating in the vote.
Quorum
In accordance with cl 14.9 of the NRKC Trust Deed, the quorum required for any annual or special general meeting shall be 10% of NRKC members and a majority of the trustees.
During the first release of postal notice regarding the call for nominations for trustee positions, a large amount of postage was returned to sender. Due to this, the amount needed for quorum cannot be accurately fixed until 7 December 2025.
As of 17 November 2025, there are 1044 registered NRKC members. However, this number is expected to reduce as further postage is returned to sender and these returns are registered by the Chief Returning Officer.
We provisionally expect that the amount of registered NRKC members will sit at approximately 1000. This indicates that a quorate hui will require 100 NRKC members present, either in person at Mataikotare Marae or pre-approved hui locations.
